Robbie Maccone has been coaching baseball for over 10 years now and has had great success on many levels. He started his career coaching as an assistant coach of the Long Island Mariners, a premier travel team on Long Island. After years of success he was promoted to head coach of the 18U team where he continued to have success and send many players on to play at college. He also spent three seasons as an assistant coach for the Riverhead Tomcats in the prestigious Hamptons League, for top college players in the nation. His greater coaching success is as the head coach of Riverhead High School Varsity Baseball Team. At Riverhead, he has turned the program around in a short time by sending many players to college to play baseball and making the playoffs for the first time in 2015. Also, he coached 2013 Carl Yastrzemski Award winner Matt Crohan, the award given to the top baseball player in Suffolk County.

Coach Maccone has had just as much success as a player. Born and raised in Sachem, He started his college career at Dowling College but transferred to St. Joseph’s College after a year and shined right away as a catcher. In his senior season, Coach Maccone was named Team Captain, helped win a Skyline Championship, was apart of the first team ever at St. Joe’s to make the Regionals, and was selected to the New York State All Region Team. During his career he batted over .300 and threw out over 50% of potential base stealers.
